let the first consecutive no. be x so other no.s are x+1 ,x+2 ,x+3 ,x+4 ,x+5

so x+(x+1)+(x+2)+(x+3)+(x+4)+(x+5)= -9

=(x+x+x+x+x+x) +(1+2+3+4+5)= -9

=6x +15= -9

=6x= -9+15

=6x=6

=x= 6/6

=x=1

Hence ,x=1.
