Solution

Given :-

  • The sum of squares of two numbers is 70
  • square of difference between the two numbers is 20.

Find :-

  • product of two numbers .

Explanation

Let,

  • First number is = x
  • Second number = y

A/C to question

(The sum of squares of two numbers is 70 )

==> x² + y² = 70 -------------------Equ(1)

And,

(square of difference between the two numbers is 20 )

==> x² - y² = 20 ----------------------Equ(2)

Add equ(1) & equ(2)

==> 2x² = 90

==> x² = 90/2

==> x² = 45

==> x = √45

==> x = √(9×5)

==> x = 3√5

Keep value of x in equ(1) ,

==> (3√5)² + y² = 70

==> -y² = 3√5 × 3√5 - 70

==> -y² = 45 - 70

==> -y² = -25

==> y = √25

==> y = √(5×5)

==>y = 5

Hence

  • First Number be (x) = 3.√5
  • Second Number be (y) = 5
