a + (n-1)d = an
a + (5-1)d = 30
a + 4d = 30 ------- 1
a9 = 26
a + (n-1)d = an
a + (9-1)d = 26
a + 8d = 26 -------- 2
Subtract equation 2 - equation 1
a+8d=26
-a+4d=30
4d= -4
Substituting in 1, a+4d = 30
a+4(-1) = 30
a - 4 = 30
a = 30 + 4
a = 34
