Answer:

Shyam age = 18 years

Step-by-step explanation:

the sum of the age of Ram and Shyam is = 42

let the Shyam age be =x

then the ram age will be= x+6 ( as ram is older than Shyam by 6 years)

According to questions the equation is

x+ (x+ 6) = 42

2x= 42-6

2x= 36

x= 18 years

Shyam age = 18 years ( as x= 18)

Ram age = 24 years ( as x+6 = 24 )

Shyam age + Ram age

18+24= 42

Hi there mate!

Let me help you.

See thisi s a simple question just you have to frame the equation...

Let shyam's age be x

Thus ram's age= 42-x ... (1)

But we are also given that

ram's age =x+6 ... (2)

Thus by (1) =(2)...

42-x=x+6

42-6=x+x

36=2x

36/2= x

Therefore x=18

Thus shyam's age is 18 years
