Answer:

Let the age of ram be ' x ' and the age of shyam br ' y '.

According to first condition;

x + y = 30 -----> 1

According to second condition;

x + 5 = 3(y + 5)

x + 5 = 3y + 15

x - 3y = 15 - 5

x - 3y = 10 -------> 2

solving 1 and 2

x + y = 30

x - 3y = 10

- + -

-------------

4y = 20

y = 20/4

y = 5

substitute the value of y = 5 in equation 1

x + y = 30

x + 5 = 30

x = 30- 5

x = 25

So the present age of ram is x = 25 and the age of shyam is y= 5

Answer:

let the present age of ram = x

the present age of shyam = y

sum of their ages = 30

x + y = 30----------1

five years later.......

ram age = x + 5

shyam age = y + 5

ram age will be three times the shyam age.so...

x + 5 = 3 ( y + 5 )

x + 5 = 3y + 15

x - 3y = 10----------2

sub equations 1 and 2

x + y = 30

x - 3y = 10

when symbols are charged. .........x and -x will cancelled

4y = 20

y = 20/4

y = 5

x + y = 30

x + 5 = 30

x = 25

therefore age of ram = 25

age of shyam = 5
