The sum of the digits of a 2-digits number is 7.If the digits are reversing ,the new number increased by 3 less than 4 times the original number . Find the original number.​

Let the units place digit and tens place digit = x and y respectively.

Therefore, the desired number = 10 y + x

According to the problem:

x + y = 7      and      10 x + y = 4(10 y + x) - 3

{Eqn 1}                    ⇒ 10 x + y = 40 y + 4x -3

                               ⇒ 6 x - 39 y = - 3          {Eqn 2}

On solving both the equations, we get:

x = 6 and y = 1

Therefore, the desired number = 10 y + x = 10 (1) + 6

Which is nothing but 16..
