The sum of the digits of a two-digit number is 12. If the new number formed by reversing the digits is less than the original number by 54. Find the original number.

Answer:

Let the digits of the number be x and y

x+y=12 & 10x+y=(10y+x)+54

10x+y-10y-x=54

9x-9y=54

x-y=6

x+y=12

2x=18

x=9

y=12–9=3

Therefore the number is 93
