Substitute (y= 9-x) in eqn. 2
88x = 11(9 - x)
88x = 99 - 11x
88x + 11x = 99
99x = 99
x = 99/99
= 1
Substitute value of x in eqn. 1
x + y =9
1 + y = 9
y = 8
Number = 10x + y
= 10(1) + 8
= 10 + 8
= 18
