The sum of the digits of a two-digit number is equal to 15. If these digits switch places then you will get a number that is 27 less than the original number. Find these numbers.

Here we can rewrite this number as 10x+y.

10x+y=15...............................(1)

Reversing these digits, we get:

10y+x=(10x+y)-27

10y+x=10x+y-27

-9x+9y=-27

-9(y-x)=-27

y-x=-27/-9

y-x=3..........................(2)

Using elimination method, we get:

10x+y=15

-x+y=3

x=6, y=9.
