Let , Numerator of a fraction = x
Denominator of a fraction = y
A/Q ,
x + y = 12 ----------(1)
if the denominator is Increased by 3
it means , Denominator = y + 3
fraction = 1/2
× /y+3 = 1/2
2× = y + 3
2x - y = 3 ----------(2)
equation (1) + equation (2)
x + y = 12
2x - y = 3
_________
3x = 15
× = 5
we put , x = 5 in equation (1)
x + y = 12
5 + y =12
y = 12 - 5
y = 7
Numerator = 5
Denominator = 7
Hence , Fraction = 5/ 7
