Let the numerator be x.

Therefore, denominator will be 18-x.

According to question , If the denominator is increased by two , the new fraction is 1/3.→

x /((18-x)+2) = 1/3

or, x/(20-x) = 1/3

or, 3x = 20-x

or, 3x + x = 20

or, 4x = 20

or, x = 20/4

or, x = 5

Therefore , numerator is 5.

Denominator = 18-5 = 13

Out fraction = 5/13

Answer → The Fraction is 5/13

Answer:5/13

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the fraction be x/y, where x=numerator and y = denominator

X+y=18------(1)

X/y+2=1/3

Y+2=3x

3x-y=2-------(2)

3x-y=2

X+y=18

4x=20

X=5

5+y=18

Y=13

X/y=5/13
