ANSWER

  • (D) 21.7 cm² ()

GIVEN:

  • Sum of parallel sides of trapezium = 12.4 cm
  • the distance between the parallel sides(Height) = 3.5 cm

TO FIND:

  • What is the area of the trapezium ?

SOLUTION:

We have given that, the sum of the parallel sides of a trapezium is 12.4 cm. If the distance between the parallel sides is 3.5 cm

We know that the formula for finding the area of the trapezium is:-

\bf{\star \: AREA = \dfrac{1}{2} \times (sum \: of \: parallel \: sides) \times height\: \star}

According to question:-

On putting the given values in the formula, we get

\rm{\dashrightarrow AREA = \dfrac{1}{2} \times 12.4 \times 3.5 }

\rm{\dashrightarrow AREA = \dfrac{1}{\cancel{2}} \times \cancel{12.4} \times 3.5 }

\rm{\dashrightarrow AREA = 6.2 \times 3.5 }

\bf{\dashrightarrow AREA =  21.7 \: cm^2 }

Hence, the area of the trapezium is 21.7 cm²

✰✰ ANSWER ✰✰

  • Sum of parallel sides = 12.4 cm
  • Distance between parallel sides is 3.5 cm that means height ( h ) of trapezium is 3.5 cm...

Using Formula : -

\implies\tt{\small{\boxed{\bold{\bold{\red{\sf{Area\:of\:Trapezium=\dfrac{1}{2}\times{Sum\:of\:parallel\:sides}\times{h}}}}}}}}

Putting Values : -

\implies\tt{\dfrac{1}{2}\times{\cancel{12.4}}\times{3.5}}

\implies\tt{6.2\times{3.5}}

\implies\tt{21.70{cm}^{2}}

So , The area of trapezium is 21.70 cm²..

Option D)21.7 cm² is Correct...
