The sum of the present age of avinash and ravi is 80 years, two times of avinash's age is 10 years more than ravi's age is 10 years more than ravi's age. Find their present ages.

let the present age of avinash be x yr and present age of Ravi be y yr
sum of their ages = 80
x + y = 80 ----(1)
2 × x = y + 10
2x = y + 10 => y = 2x - 10
put value of 'y ' in (1) , we get
x + 2x - 10 = 80
3x = 90 => x = 30 yr
thus ,
present age of avinash = 30yr
present age of Ravi y = 2x - 10
= 2(30) - 10 = 50yr
Answer: Avinash= 30yr , Ravi= 50yr
