Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let ages of Noor and father be y and x respectively;

x+y=64

3/5(x+8)=y+8

3x+24=5y+40

3x-5y=16

5(x+y)=64×5

5x+5y=320

8x=336

x=42

y=64-42

= 22

Hence Noor is 22 years and his father is 42 years.

Given:

The sum of present age of Noor and his father = 64

After 8 years, age of Noor = 3/5 of his father at that time

To Find:

The present ages of Noor and his father.

Calculation:

- Let the present age of Noor be x and the present age of his father be y years.

- According to question:

x + y = 64

⇒ x = 64 - y ...(i)

- Also, we have:

(x + 8) = 3/5 (y + 8)

- Putting the value of x from (i), we get:

64 - y + 8 = (3y + 24)/5

⇒ (72 - y) × 5 = 3y - 24

⇒ 360 - 5y = 3y - 24

⇒ 8y = 336

⇒ y = 336/8

y = 42 years

- Again, from (i) we get:

x = 64 - 42

x = 22 years

- So, the present age of Noor is 22 years and present age of his father is 42 years.
