let the number be X and Y
X square + Y square is equal to 233 ...(1)
now ,
x=2Y-3.....(2)
putting the value of x in equation 1
(2Y-3)^2 +Y^2 =233
4Y^2+9-12Y+Y^2=233
5Y^2-12Y-224=0
y=8 or 28
x=13 or 53 respectively
