Answer :

4 , 6 , 8

Solution :

We know that , the consecutive multiples of 2 differ by 2 .

Thus ,

Let the three consecutive multiples of 2 be x , (x + 2) and (x + 4) .

Now ,

According to the question , the sum of three consecutive multiples of 2 is 18 .

Thus ,

=> x + (x + 2) + (x + 4) = 18

=> 3x + 6 = 18

=> 3x = 18 - 6

=> 3x = 12

=> x = 12/3

=> x = 4

Thus ,

1st no. = x = 4

2nd no. = x + 2 = 4 + 2 = 6

3rd no. = x + 4 = 4 + 4 = 8

Hence ,

Required numbers are 4 , 6 , 8 .
