Let the thee consecutive odd numbers be x+1, x+3 and x+5

Their sum = 3x + 9

Their average = (3x + 9) /3 = x + 3

Sum is 26 more than their average. (Given)

Hence, 3x + 9 = x + 3 + 26

2x = 20

X = 10

Then the consecutive odd numbers are

10+1, 10+3, 10+5

I. e. 11, 13 and 15.

Verify:

Sum= 11+13+15 = 39

Average = sum/3= 39/3 = 13

Average + 26 = 13+26 = 39 = sum

Verified & correct.

Answer:

Sum= 11+13+15 = 39

Average = sum/3= 39/3 = 13

Average + 26 = 13+26 = 39 = sum

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the thee consecutive odd numbers be x+1, x+3 and x+5

Their sum = 3x + 9

Their average = (3x + 9) /3 = x + 3

Sum is 26 more than their average. (Given)

Hence, 3x + 9 = x + 3 + 26

2x = 20

x = 10

Then the consecutive odd numbers are

10+1, 10+3, 10+5

I. e. 11, 13 and 15.

Verify:

Sum= 11+13+15 = 39

Average = sum/3= 39/3 = 13

Average + 26 = 13+26 = 39 = sum

Verified & correct.
