the sum of three consecutive terms of an A.P. is 21 and their product is 280.find the A.P.

a1 + a2 + a3 = 21
a1 x a2 x a3 = 280


Let the first term and second term and third term respectively be a - d, a, a+d.
=>a - d+a+a+d = 21
=>3a = 21
=>a = 7.


Given,
(a - d) a(a+d) = 280
=>a²-d²=280÷7
=>-d²=40-7²
=>-d²=-9
=>d = ±3.


Two A. Ps are:-
..10,7,4.. and. ..4,7,10...
