Given:-

  • The sum of Tikendra and Tejaram's age is 30
  • Tikendra age is twice of Tejaram's age.

To find:-

  • Find the present ages ?

Solutions:-

  • Let the Tikendra's age be 'x' years.
  • Let the Tejaram's age be 'y' years

We have,

Tikendra's age is twice of Tejaram's age.

=> x = 2y .......(i).

The sum of Tikendra and Tejaram's age is 30

=> x + y = 30 .......(ii).

Putting the value of 'x' from equation (i) in equation (ii).

=> x + y = 30

=> 2y + y = 30

=> 3y = 30

=> y = 30/3

=> y = 10

Putting the value of 'y' in equation (i).

=> x = 2y

=> x = 2 × 10

=> x = 20

Now,

  • Tikendra's age = x = 20 years
  • Tejaram's age = y = 10 years

Hence, the present ages of Tikendra and Tejaram are 20 years and 10 years.
