let those two consecutive numbers be
x and x+1

as the sum of two consecutive natural number is 47

x + ( x+1) =47

opening bracket

x + x +1 =47
2x + 1 = 47
2x = 47-1
2x = 46
x =46/2
x= 23
x+1 = 24

thus the two consecutive numbers are
23 and 24
23 + 24 = 47
