so....sum of reciprocal is

1/(x-1) + 1/(x+1)= 12/35

or...70x=12x^2 - 12

or.... 6x^2 - 35x - 6=0

or.... x=-1/6 or 6

...now....sum of the two consecutive nos= x-1+x+1=2x

which is equal to -1/3 or 12
