Given:

Sum of the digits is 9 and the number is 6 times unit digit

To find:

The number

Solution:

Let the two digit number be 10x+y

As per given data,

x+y=9 ......(1)

10x+y=6y

10x=5y ......(2)

Using (1) in (2)

10x=5(9−x)

10x=45−5x

10x+5x=45

15x=45

x= 15/45

x=3

Put x=3 in (1) we get

3+y=9

⟹y=6

∴The required number is

10x+y=10(3)+6=30+6=36
