Given :

The sum of two integers is -6.

If one of them is 53.

To prove :

Find the second number

Solution :

Let m, n are two integers .

m = 53 ( given )

Sum of two integers = -16

=> m + n = -16

=> 53 + n = -16

Subtract 53 from both sides of the equation, we get

=> -53 + 53 + n = -53 - 16

=> n = -69

Therefore,

Required second integer (n)=-69

Answer:

The other number is -69 if one number is 53.

Step-by-step explanation:

A positive, negative, and zero is called as integer if it is a whole number.

An integer should never be a fraction.

The sum of the integers is – 16 .

One of the number in the sum is 53, therefore let’s take the other number as x

So, if the sum of two numbers, i.e. (x+53) = -16

Therefore to find the value  of  x ; (x+53)= -16;  x=-53+-16= -69

Hence the other number is -69.
