So, Integers.
Integers are very simple you will learn easily!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Integers are the positive numbers,0 and the negative numbers. All are integers
__________________________________________________________
Remember: Fractions are not integers or any number p and q written inĀ is not an integer.
__________________________________________________________
Now lets understand the problem.
It is said that there are 2 integers which are added together and the answer of it is -16. It is said that one among the integers is 53. And we have to find the other.
__________________________________________________________
So lets write it in its form>>>
Let the other number be x
So,
53+x=(-16)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Use the method of transposing.
x= (-16)-53
x= (-69)
_________________________________________________________
When 2 numbers are negative we add those numbers and add negative sign to the answer
_____________________________________________________________
So the answer is -69!
__________________________________________________________
Verification:
-69 +53
___________________________________________________________
One number is positive and another is negative so we subtract the numbers and put the sign of the greater number
_____________________________________________________________
So the answer is -16!
_________________________________________________________
Hope this helped you :)
