Let 1st number = x
2nd number = x+6
Sum of both number = x+(x+6) = 2x + 6
sum of both number = 72
according to the question -

2x+6=72
2x=72-6
2x=66
x=66÷2
x=33 answer

such that:

solution:
let the first number = x 
and 
other will be = (x+6)

According to condition :
x + ( x+6) = 72 

=> 2x + 6 =72 

=> 2x = 72 - 6 

=> x = 66/2  = 33 

Hence;
the first number = 33 
and 
other number is = 33+6 = 39 Answer
