Let the two numbers be x andy.

or, 2x/2 16/2 or, x = 16/2

or, x = 8

Substituting the value x in equation (), we get

8+y 14

or, 8-8+ y = 14-8

or, y 14 -8

or, y 6

Therefore, x = 8 and y = 6

Hence, the two numbers are 6 and 8.
