The sum of two number is 33 and their difference is 15 the smallest number is

let the first no. be x And second no. be y, ATQ= Sum of the 2 nos.= x+y=33........(1)  And their difference= x-y=15......(2) by (1)and (2), we get,  x+y=33 x-y=15  2x=48 x=48/2 x=24....(3) putting (3) into (1) x+y=33 24+y=33 y=33-24 y=9  Hence, the 2 nos. are 24 and 9
