the sum of two numbers is -1/3. if one of the number is -12/3, find the other

Let, One number be x
So, x-(12/3)=-1/3
x=(12/3)-(1/3)
x=11/3

Let x+y be -1/3
-12/3+y=-1/3
Y=-1/3+12/3
Y=-1+12 whole divided by 3
11/3 is your answer
