Heya !!

Let two numbers are X and Y.

Sum = 2

X + Y = 2 -------(1)

And ,

Difference = 20

X - Y = 20 ---------(2)

From (1) we get,

X + Y = 2

X = ( 2 - Y ) ----(3)

Putting the value of x in (2)

X - Y = 20

2 - Y - Y = 20

-2y = 18

y = -9

Putting the value of y in (3)

X = 2 - Y

X = 2-(-9) = 11

Hence,

Two numbers are -9 and 11.

Your Answer :-

Let the numbers be x , y

then ,

x + y = 2

x - y = 20

 \boxed{A.T.Q.}

We have ,

x + y = 2

x = 2 - y ----------- Equation 1 .

Putting Value of x in Another Equation ,

x - y = 20

2 - y - y = 20

2 - 2y = 20

-2y = 18

y = - 9 .

then ,

x = 2 - y

x = 2 - (-9)

x = 11.
