Let the two numbers be X and Y.



According to question,



Sum of two numbers = 22


X + Y = 22 -----------(1)


And,


Difference of two numbers = 6


X - Y = 6 ----------(2)



from equation (1) we get,



X + Y = 22



X = 22-Y ------------(3)



Putting the value of X in equation (2)


X - Y = 6


22 - Y - Y = 6


-2Y = 6-22


-2Y = -16


Y = -16/-2 => 8


Putting the value of Y in equation (3)



X = 22-Y => 22-8 = 14


Hence,


Two Numbers are 14 and 8
