let one number be x
so the other be (22-x)
now
5x = 6(22 - x) \\ or. \: 5x = 132 - 6x \\ or. \: 5x + 6x = 132 \\  or. \: 11x = 132 \\ or. \: x  = \frac{132}{11}  = 12
so one number be =12 and the other be (22-12)= 10

The bigger number is 12

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the two numbers be x and y

The sum of two numbers is 22

So, x+y=22 --- A

Five times of one number is equal to 6 times the other.

5x=6y\\x=\frac{6}{5}y

Substitute the values in A

\frac{6}{5}y+y=22\\\frac{11}{5}y=22\\y=22 \times \frac{5}{11}\\y=10

x+y=22

x+10=22

x=12

Hence The bigger number is 12
