AnSwEr -:

The both numbers are 12 and 14 .

____________________________
Explanation-:

Let x and y be the two numbers

Given ,

X+ Y = 26

According To question

Y - x = 2 or Y=x+ 2

x + x+ 2 = 26

x+ x = 26 - 4

x + x= 24

2x = 24

X= 24/2

X= 12

Y= 12 + 2

14

Therefore,

The both numbers are 12 and 14 .

Question :

•The sum of two numbers is 26 and their differences is 2

To find:

* The value of x and y =?

\underline{\bf{According \: to \: given \: condition }}

 \:  \:  \:  \qquad \bf \: x + y = 26  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: \:  \:... ..equation(1)

 \:  \: \: \qquad \bf \: x - y = 2 \:  \:  \: .....equation(2)

 \:  \implies \displaystyle \tt \: x +\cancel{ y }= 26

 \:  \:  \qquad \displaystyle \tt \: x -\cancel{ y }= 2

 \:  \implies \displaystyle \tt \: 2x = 28

  \\ \implies \displaystyle \tt \: y =  \frac{28}{2}  = 14

 \:  \:    \underline{\bf{put \: the \: value \: of \: y \: in \: equation \: (1)}}

 \:  \:  \implies \displaystyle \tt \: x + y = 26

 \:  \:  \implies \displaystyle \tt \: x  + 14 = 26

 \:  \:  \implies \displaystyle \tt \: x = 26 - 14

 \:  \:  \implies \displaystyle \tt \: x = 12

\therefore\boxed{\underline{\bf{The \: value \: of \: x \: and \: y \: will \: be \: x=14 \: and \: y=12}}}
