Solution

Let the larger number is =X

And the greater number is =Y

According to question,

X+Y = 345678 -----------------(1)

X+ 16016 = Y

=> x-Y = -16016 -------------------(2)

(1) + (2)=>

X + Y =345678

X - Y= - 16016

----------------------------------

2X= 329,662

=>X = 164,831

Now putting the value of X in the equation (1) , ...

X+Y= 345678

=>Y= 345678- X

=> Y= 345678 -164,831

=> Y= 180,847

Therefore,

The smaller number will be =164,831

And the larger number will be =180,847
