Let the two numbers are x and y.
According to the question, 10% of one number is 12.5% of the other.
So, 10% of x =12.5% of y
1/10 of x=125/1000 of y
1/10 of x=1/8 of y
x=1/8÷1/10of y
x=1/8×10of y
x=10/8=5/4 of y
Now, x+y=4500
5/4 of y+y=4500
( 5/4+1)of y=4500
9/4 of y=4500
y=4500×4/9=500×4=2000
x=5/4 of y=5/4×2000=2500
Hence,the two numbers are 2000 & 2500.

Answer:

2000 & 2500

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the numbers be a,b

Given 10% of a is equal to 12.5% of b

⟹10a=12.5b⟹a=  5b/4

 And also given sum of Two numbers is 4500

⟹a+b=4500

⟹  5b/4+b=4500

⟹b=  4/9×4500=2000

⟹a=4500−2000=2500

SO the numbers are 2000,2500
