the sum of two numbers is 60 the greater number is 8 more than twice the smaller number find the numbers

Sum of no.=60
Given, greater no. is 8 more than smaller.
Now, first no.=34
second no.- 34-8=26
34+26=60
Solved..
well there is a trick to answer this question that there is no trick..
i just thought a no. in my mind...
for ex- first i no. came in my mind was 32 but it was wrong..second time i thought 34 and got it right..
it only took 5-6 seconds..
So, one suggestion no need to apply formula every time.

Let the smaller number be X,

ATQ,

Greater number = 8+2x

So,

X + 8 + 2x = 60

8 + 3x = 60

3x = 52

X = 17.33 .
