Let one number be x and other y

x+y=64

y=x-16

putting value of y in eq. 1

x+x-16=64

2x=80

x=40

y=40-16=24

Hope it's helpful uh

Equation 1, total of the two numbers:

x + y = 64

Equation 2, difference between the two numbers:

x = y - 16

Substitute for x in equation 1:

(y - 16) + y = 64

2y -16 = 64

2y = 80

y = 40

Solve for x:

x = y - 16

x = 40 - 16

\huge\bold\green{x=24}

The two numbers are 24 and 40...

I hope it's helpful for u....
