Let the numbers be x and y.
As per the question,
x+y =69
x-y = 17.
On equating both, you will get
x = 43
y= 26.
As per the question,
x+y =69
x-y = 17.
On equating both, you will get
x = 43
y= 26.

let the two numbers are x and y
now according to question:
x+y=69
so x= 69 -y (eq: 1)
and:
x-y=17 ( A.T.Q.)(equation - 2)
now put value of x in equation - (2)
so, 69-y-y=17
-2y=-52
y= 26
now we have the value of y ..so put it in equation 1st
x=69-y
x=69-26 (y=26)
x=43
so... two numbers whose sum is 69 and difference is 17 are:
43 and 26
now according to question:
x+y=69
so x= 69 -y (eq: 1)
and:
x-y=17 ( A.T.Q.)(equation - 2)
now put value of x in equation - (2)
so, 69-y-y=17
-2y=-52
y= 26
now we have the value of y ..so put it in equation 1st
x=69-y
x=69-26 (y=26)
x=43
so... two numbers whose sum is 69 and difference is 17 are:
43 and 26
