Let the two numbers be x and y, then;
x+y = 72
x-y = 6
2x = 78
x = 39
y= 72-x
= 72-39
= 33
hence the numbers are 33 & 39.

According to 2nd condition,
x=y+6
x-y=6. ....(2)
Add (1) & (2)
x+y=72
+x-y=6
----------
2x=78
x=78÷2
x=39
Put,x=39 in eqn (1)
39+y=72
y=72-39
=33
