the sum of two rational no. is (-3/7) .if one of the no. is (-5/8), find the other

ANSWER

let the another no. be x

x+(-5/8)= -3/7

=>(8x-5)/8= -3/7

=>8x-5= -24/7

=> 8x =(35-24)/7

=>8x = 11/7

=> x=11/56
