Let the other rational number be ‘x’
Given, x+(-14/5)=-2
So x-(14/5)= -2
x=-2+(14/5)
x=4/5

Answer:

Other rational number is 4/5 .

Step-by-step explanation:

Given -

The sum of two rational number is -2.

One of the  rational number is \frac{-14}{5} .

To find -

Other rational number

Solution -

Let, other rational number is x

As per given information

\frac{-14}{5} + x =-2

x = -2 + \frac{14}{5}

For subtraction of fraction number both the denominator should be same.

Multiply 2 by 5/5 we get

x = \frac{-10}{5} +\frac{14}{5}

x = \frac{-10+14}{5}

x=\frac{4}{5}

Other rational number is 4/5 .

LHS = \frac{-14}{5} + \frac{4}{5} = \frac{-14+4}{5}= \frac{-10}{5} = -2

LHS = RHS

∴ Ans checked
