Let the other number be x.

According to the question,

\\

\sf \rightarrow \quad x + \frac{2}{5} = - \frac{4}{3} \\ \\ \sf \rightarrow \quad x = - \frac{4}{3} - \frac{2}{5} \\ \\ \sf \rightarrow \quad x = \frac{ - 20 - 6}{15} \\ \\ \sf \rightarrow \quad x = - \frac{26}{15}
