Given - Sum and one number

Find - Other number

Solution - Let the number be x. Representing given information in mathematical expression -

 \frac{ - 5}{39}  + x =  \frac{ - 7}{13}

Shifting -5/39 to other side of equation

x =  \frac{ - 7}{13}  +  \frac{5}{39}

Taking LCM and performing subtraction

LCM = 39

x =  \frac{( - 7 \times 3) + 5}{39}

Solving the fraction

x =  \frac{ - 21 + 5}{39}

x =  \frac{ - 16}{39}

Hence, the other number is -16/39.
