Given :  The sun casts a shadow that is proportional to the object’s height. The height of a pole is unknown. Its shadow is 7 ft.

The height of a nearby tree is 8 ft. Its shadow is 28 ft.

To Find :  the unknown length of Pole.

Solution:

The sun casts a shadow that is proportional to the object’s height.

=>  Height of tree/ Shadow of Tree  =  Height of pole / Shadow of Pole

=>  8 / 28  =  Height of pole /  7

=> Height of pole = 7 * 8 /28

=> Height of pole = 56 /28

=> Height of pole =  2  ft

the unknown length of Pole = 2  ft
