The surface area of a cylinder which exactly fits in a cube of side b is πx².

  • Consider the side of cube as x, then the height of cylinder will be equal to the height of the cylinder.
  • Also the radius of the cylinder will be half of the side length of the cube.
  • So we get:

                 height = x, and radius = x/2

  • CSA of a cylinder = 2πrh

                                                = 2π (x/2)(x)

                                                = πx²
