c) S<Q<R<P correctly represents the solutions in increasing order of their hydronium ion concentration.

  • As we know, pH and hydronium ion concentration are inversely proportional to each other. Thus, as the pH increases, concentration of hydronium ion will decrease.
  • Therefore, S will have least hydronium ion concentration and P will have most hydronium ion concentration.
  • Acidic solution is characterized by high hydronium ion concentration and pH range between 0 to 6.
  • Basic solution is characterized by low hydronium ion concentration and pH range between 7 to 14.

The correct option will be option a .

Now as the pH of solution P is lowest among the all it is the most acidic and hence will give more H⁺ or H₃O⁺ ion.

Ans as the solution S has the highest pH value it will be the most basic or lets say  least acidic solution and hence will give least  H⁺ or H₃O⁺ ion.
