The Taj Mahal rises above the banks of the river like a solitary tear suspended on the cheek of time. The Taj Mahal was built by the Mutual emperor, Shah Jahan in the memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal.

The Taj Mahal is located in Agra. It is made of ivory white marble. It is also marked as the world heritage site by the UNESCO. It is also one of the seven wonders of the world. It is also located in the southern bank of River Yamuna. it is one of the best example of Mughal architecture.

The Taj Mahal was made by Ustad Ahmad Lahauri. it is believed that it took total 22 years in building it and was completed in 1653. After it was built, emperor Shah Jahan cut all the hands of the architects, so that they could not make another building like Taj Mahal. Inside the Taj Mahal, the tombs of Shah Jahan and his wife, Mumtaz Mahal is kept.

in present day, the Taj Mahal attracts tourist due to its unique history. but nowadays due to air pollution the white marble of Taj Mahal is becoming yellowish in colour. So, we have to protect the Taj Mahal and stop the air pollution to keep it's beauty for more than a thousand years.
