the taxi charge in a city consist of afixed charge together with the charge distance covered. for a distance of 10km the charge paid is rupees 105 and for ajourney of 15 km, the charge paid is rupees rupees 155. what are the fixed charge and the and charge per km ? how much does a person have to pay for travelling a distance of 25 km.

Now as per question,

x + 10 y = 105.........eq 1

x + 15y = 155

=> x =155-15y...........eq 2

Now lets substitute eq 2 in eq 1

155 - 15y + 10y = 105

=> -5y = -50

=> y = 10

Now,

x + 10(10) = 105

x + 100=105

x=5

Similarly for 25 km

5 + 25(10)

=5 + 250

=255Rs
