The teacher divided the 48 students in the class into five groups for
different activities for the class exhibition. The second group had more
students than the first group. The fifth group was equal to the second
group. The third group was 2 more than the fourth group and the
fourth group was 3 more than the fifth group. What are the numbers of
students in each group?​

2nd gr.=X-5

5th gr.=X-5

4th gr.=5th gr.+3=X-5+3=X-2

3rd group=4th+2=X-2+2=X

Adding all groups=48

X+X-5+X-5+X-2+X=48

5X=48+12=60

1st gr=X=12

2nd gr.=5th gr.=X-5=7

3rd gr. =X=12

4th gr.=X-2=12-2=10
