x + 4 + 2x = 28

3x + 4 = 28

3x = 24

x=8

8 and 2*8+4 = 16+4=20

Let student in 1st group be x

2nd group 3x+8 (total=44)

x+3x+8=44

4x=44-8

4x=36

x=36/4=9

9 student in 1st group
