The temperature at 12 noon was 100 C above zero. If it decreases

at the rate of 20 C per hour until midnight, at what time would

the temperature be 80 C below zero? What would be the

temperature at mid-night?

Step-by-step explanation:

Since it is decreasing at the rate of 20 C per hour, 80 C = 100-20 C will be after 1 hour i.e., at 1 pm.

Now, from 12 noon to midnight, there are 12 hours.

So temp at midnight will decrease by 12x20 C = 240 C

So at midnight, temp will be 100-240 = -140 C

Hope you got it
